Am I feeding her too much?
One of my mother's group's friend came to visit the other day and she was so surprised (or shall I say, shocked) to see the amount of food Isabel is consuming daily. She said it's waaayyyyy too much as her daughter of the same age is just having 1/4 or at most 1/3 of the portion that Isabel is eating.
I didn't know if I'm really feeding her too much, but so far she would just happily gulp down the food I feed her at meal times, sometimes wanting more.
Here are some examples of what I'm giving Isabel daily:
Early morning around 7am - 210ml of formula milk
Breakfast around 9am:
- half a banana, 1 egg yolk, 6 teaspoon of wheat + water, mixed and mashed into puree
or
- half of a big Fuji apple (steamed and mashed) + 1 egg yolk
Lunch around 12:30 - porridge
Teatime around 3 - 4pm - 210ml formula milk
Dinner around 6:30pm - porridge
Before sleep at night around 9pm - 210ml formula milk
Here are some photos of a sample lunch+dinner portion that I'm cooking for her daily:
Yesterday's lunch and dinner : half a sweet corn + 1 tomato + half a zucchini + around half cup of rice, boiled with anchovies broth
This is the portion she would take at lunch and dinner each.
Other combination of her porridge are like:
1 sweet potato + some cawliflower + half sweet corn
chicken fillet (minced) + 1 sweet potato/potato + 1 tomato
1 carrot + some cellery + tomato + pumpkin
etc etc...
Then she will drink about 100ml of cool boiled water a day . And sometimes, she might take some snacks between meals, like two pieces of rice crackers, and sometimes a piece of fruit after dinner.
So, is she eating healthily? Or am I feeding her too much food?
